Abstract:
Prof. Dalit Rom-Shiloni from Tel Aviv University (Israel), an expert on Judean theology and ideology of the sixth century BCE and inner-biblical allusion and exegesis in prophetic literature (mainly Jeremiah and Ezekiel), presents her third field of interest: landscape and ecology in literature of the Hebrew Bible. She presents her most recent project, an electronic dictionary on nature imagery, which is designed to expand the exegetical toolbox by becoming a recognized tool that biblical scholars can turn to when addressing aspects of nature and landscape as part of their critical scholarship. Prof. Rom-Shiloni elaborates not only on the approach and structure of the dictionary, but reflects also on related challenges and obstacles. Furthermore, she offers insights on how to join the DNI project as an author and gives important information on several follow-up co-operations and academic activities which originated from this project. Check out the presentation and feel free to engage in a scholarly discussion via the comment section. In addition, start using the DNI right now: https://dni.tau.ac.il/.
